Ethically treating mental illness and behavioral disturbances that present challenges to children and adolescents daily lives.

Healing begins with the use of authentic compassion, understanding, engagement and actively listening. Becoming attuned to the client's unique communication styles is key to therapeutic success. The foundation of the therapy lies with building a trusting, supportive and encouraging relationship between myself and the client. Expressive Arts, Play Therapy Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, Narrative Therapy are among the theories and modalities that I use to treat patients.

Strength Based and Client Centered

I believe in treating children and adolescents with unconditional positive regard wholly without exception.  Healing through the use of Expressive Arts and Play Therapy.  Some of the challenges that I help children, adolescents and their families work through include: Behavioral Difficulties, Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Grief and Loss, Relationship Issues, Bullying, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Conditions and Self-Esteem.

Children and Adolescents do not have the communication skills, tools or ability to express themselves appropriately.  They will often become defiant, oppositional, acting out with disrespect, aggression and violence refusing to engage in healthy dialogs.  Identifying strengths and abilities will provide a springboard into changing maladaptive strategies.  Providing a child and adolescent with a safe place to share, unload and communicate if paramount to healing.
